2010 Works Centre Events

Sunday 19th September - AWC Road Run. A road run starting at Abingdon and finishing at the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop, Stockbridge, Hampshire. Contact Mike Lamb on 0118 941 2102. Download an entry form - Word | PDF.

Sunday 3rd October - Chairman’s Run. A road run of the AWC Chairman’s choice, starting from Abingdon, and always finishing at an interesting venue! Contact Richard Martin on 01235 529331.

Sunday 26th December - the 16th Boxing Day Run. Blow away the cobwebs with the annual Boxing Day Run starting from Abingdon Market Square, arrive 9.30-10.00am. £5 per car, no need to pre-book, 50 car limit. The finish will be at The Dog House Hotel (a favourite haunt of MG company directors) at Frilford, where cooked meals will be available, but book first on 01865 390830. Sunday 15th August - a combined natters run is being planned with a final destination at the Classic Car Show Cranleigh in aid of the John Radcliffe Hospital. Please call Peter Bush on 07949 995552 if you are interested, or talk to your local natter leader.

Sunday 22nd August - MG Day at Middleton Hall. The Octagon Car Club are organising an MG day at Middleton Hall near Tamworth, Staffordshire. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and worth a visit. We understand there will also be a brass band to listen to with your picnic. Call Roger Bragger on 01827 54642. Sunday 5th September - the Midget Register's Road Run to Ragley Hall. Traditionally starting from the steam railway centre at Toddington, and following an interesting 60 mile route through the Cotswolds and surrounding countryside following little used byways, this year's late summer event finishes at Compton Verney. Thursday 7th October - MGB Register Lecture: "Bloodhound SSC". Andy Green, the current World Land Speed Record holder in Thrust SSC, will talk about Bloodhound SSC - Britain's attempt to break the 1000mph barrier on land.
